AKWE:GO 7-12

The Akwe:Go Children Program provides culturally appropriate activities and a comprehensive set of supports and services to meet the needs of Urban Indigenous children aged 7-12. The goal of the program is to provide tools and healthy activities which will foster their ability to make healthy choices.

WASA-NABIN 13-18

Provides support and guidance within a cultural framework for Urban Indigenous youth. The program will incorporate traditional cultural teachings and values to encourage healthy lifestyle choices. Individual support and services to meet individual needs.

HOUSING

Our Housing Program assists Urban Indigenous individuals and families who are at risk of experiencing homelessness. We collaborate with community partners to address housing needs, secure suitable accommodations, and prevent future homelessness.

LIFELONG CARE

Provides support services to Urban Indigenous people facing health issues, chronically ill individuals, or people who may live with a lifelong disability. The program’s goal is to allow individuals to meet their highest quality of life through independent living for as long as possible.

INDIGENOUS COMBINED COURT WORKER

The Indigenous Combined Court Worker Program provides support to assist Indigenous people involved in the Canadian Justice System and Family court to better understand their rights, options and responsibilities when appearing before the courts.

URBAN ABORIGINAL HEALTHY LIVING PROGRAM

The Healthy Living program is designed to increase participation in improving health, and well-being to all Indigenous persons within the urban community. This includes programs such as diabetes awareness and education, nutrition, sport/physical based-activities, smoking cessation, and youth leadership skills.

CULTURAL RESOURCE PROGRAM

This community-based program is focused on providing increased access to culturally based programs and services for Urban Indigenous children, youth, and families. The program will foster a powerful sense of well-being and positive Indigenous identity.

Our Wellness Services Navigator Program is designed to provide support to Urban Indigenous community members by connecting to various community and mainstream resources to help reduce barriers when accessing wellness services.

INTERGENERATIONAL STRENGTH AND RESILIENCE PROJECT COORDINATOR

The Intergenerational Strength and Resilience (ISR) Project Coordinator will collaborate with all SLNFC program coordinators, community agencies and partners to develop and implement urban community events and services to educate and make aware intergenerational traumas caused by Indian Residential Schools.
